KAIROSTRAT’s Demography & People studies explore population transitions, settlement patterns, and human-environment relationships across Assam and the broader Northeast. We examine how communities coexist with rivers, forests, and biodiversity — and how demographic shifts influence resource management, governance, and social cohesion.
Our research highlights the unique human geography of the region, where cultural coexistence meets ecological interdependence. Through population studies, migration analysis, and socio-economic surveys, we generate insights that guide inclusive development and participatory governance. The goal is not only to map people and patterns — but to amplify their voices in the policymaking process, ensuring that growth remains equitable, sustainable, and people-centered.
